Ghostbusters Day 2025 was everything a fan could dream of—plus a little extra rain. In this behind-the-scenes look at the Ghostbusters Day 2025 celebration, I’ll take you from Ecto-1 arrival to dancing in the streets, through interviews, surprise moments, and the unshakable energy of this fandom.

I arrived in the back of Ecto-1 (yes, the Ecto-1), filming soaked and smiling. Jason Reitman, Carrie Coon, and Mckenna Grace pulled up in style, while hundreds of fans cheered from the street. The rain didn’t dampen a thing—if anything, it turned the event into a pure, unfiltered celebration of Ghostbusters love.

Meeting the Fans at Ghostbusters Day 2025

One of the best parts of Ghostbusters Day 2025? Talking to fans who flew in from around the world—including a few who were actually in Frozen Empire.

Their behind-the-scenes stories were incredible, from filming on the London firehouse replica to being surprised on set by Bill Murray himself.

The vibe was pure joy. I hung out with the crew from YHS Podcast, swapped stories, and even ran into artists working on the Dark Horse Ghostbusters comics.

Dancing, Chocolate, and Ghostbusting Celebs

Carrie Coon and Mckenna Grace interviewed

Jason Reitman shared memories of his dad scouting the firehouse location. Mckenna joked about chocolate-filled jumpsuits. Carrie called the Ghostbusters uniform “the most comfortable costume she’s worn”—a nice break from her tighter recent roles.

And then the rain came. But instead of running for cover, the crowd danced. People jumped, sang, laughed, and created one of the most unforgettable fandom moments I’ve ever seen.

Ghostbusters Gives Back: A New Chapter for the Fandom

Jason and the cast also announced the new Ghostbusters Gives Back initiative—rallying fan groups worldwide to raise money for children’s hospitals. It’s community-powered, heartfelt, and exactly what makes this fandom so special.

By the end of the day, soaked and smiling, I watched the cast sign the Ecto-1 and fans high-five through puddles. Ghostbusters Day 2025 wasn’t just a fan event—it was a celebration of what it means to belong to something bigger than yourself.

Chatting with Zach from Hasbro

I also braved the downpour to check in with Hasbro, who had some big reveals: a new 1:1 scale proton pack (with USB power!), the Ecto-1A prototype (in Cobra Rattler blue, weirdly), and exciting updates on electronics that’ll stay powered until you switch them off. No HasLab campaign this time—just pre-orders, and yes, mine’s already in.

As the weather turned from “drizzle” to “biblical,” the Hasbro booth packed up and fans piled into the firehouse. That’s when I ran into Dan, the man behind the madness. What started as a $1,000 GoFundMe to buy a sign has, five years later, become a global fan pilgrimage. Over 2,000 people showed up this year—and yes, donations surpassed last year.

At the end of the day, the cast signed the Ecto. The fans danced in the street, soaked but smiling. And I stood there thinking: this is what fandom is supposed to feel like.

Ghostbusters Day isn’t just an event. It’s joy. It’s weirdness. It’s community. It’s seeing someone boogie in a jumpsuit in the pouring rain and thinking, “Yep, I’m home.”

Massive thanks to everyone who made it happen, from Ghost Corps to Buffalo Ghostbusters, to every single person who stood in line, smiled through the storm, and made the day unforgettable.

And to whoever said, “Ghostbusters on the moon?”—I’m ready. Pack’s charged. Let’s go.
